A lot of homeowners tell me they’ve been “thinking about” screening their lanai for a year or more. The idea is easy; knowing how to start is where people get stuck. Here’s the process I walk every customer through so it feels straightforward.
Step one: figure out what’s actually bothering you
Is it bugs? Heat? Glare on the TV? Rain blowing in? The right solution depends on the problem. A motorized screen solves bugs and sun; a solar screen fabric is better for heat and glare. Naming the real issue first saves money later.
Step two: measure the openings (roughly)
You don’t need exact numbers to start a conversation — ballpark width and height of the openings you want to cover is plenty. We take precise field measurements before anything is ordered.
Step three: choose fabric openness
Fabric openness controls the balance between view, airflow, and sun blockage. On a screened lanai in Florida, this is the single most important spec, and it’s the part most homeowners haven’t thought about. It’s worth getting right.
Step four: book a consultation
A consultation is where it all comes together. We look at your space, talk through options and budget, and there’s no pressure. If financing makes it easier, we can walk through that too.
